This summer I have been working at a day care on the naval base here. The job is through a teen-hire program, and everyone has a project that the have to complete before the summer is over. I work with kids from ages 5 weeks to 5 years old, so I decided to make quiet books for each of the classrooms.
There are five classrooms and they are divided by age groups. For the two infant rooms I am making books that are completely made out of color. Each page has different patterns and shades to help the children recognize the difference between the colors.
This is what I have so far:
I have sewed the pages back to back and, when I get it, I will be filling the pages with quilt batting to make them soft and blanket-like. All of these pages only make up one book. There are only four pages per book for the two infant books. I haven't figure out how I want to make the front and back cover or how I want to bind it, so I'll be doing that shortly.
I'm very excited to see how it turns out!
