Sort of Productive

For the past few weeks I have been rushing to get things done. 

I promised some family members that I would do some paintings for them and I hadn't even started. So I spent the last weeks of winter break sketching and painting so that I could get them done and sent out before the semester started and I no longer had time to spare. 

In addition to painting, one of my good friends taught me how to cut linoleum blocks. My first design was a nesting doll based on a painting I did a few years ago. 

Above is the first test print. 

After that, I became pretty interested in it and I went out and bought my own tools and started sketching a zombie hand. 

I'm very very excited about how it came out and I hope I can keep coming up with new ideas. 

Two weeks ago I also made a new friend who is a fantastic artist. 

She and I decided to do an art trade and the above painting is what I made for her. She goes by Wasabi Monster so I decided to paint her something representing that. 

Also, I think I've decided to start leaning away from crafts and towards more art based things, 

so hopefully I can stick with it and I will keep posting them here.
